It's unclear whether the show will satirize Democrats or Republicans specifically or just the political landscape in general, but hijinks will certainly ensue. Meanwhile Richard and New Christine fight over what to do about their house and finally decide they can live together amicably, but not romantically. That includes the judgmental stay-at-home moms at her son's private school and her ex-husband, Richard. Richard still spends a lot of time at Christine's house even when he becomes involved in a relationship with a younger woman who is also named Christine. Barb thinks a guy named Bongo can help her, so Christine and Matthew fly to the Bahamas to find him. The brother and sister pair are very neurotic with Christine being more obsessed about fitting in with the other mothers at her sons' school. Harris is on the ropes because she is just too busy with her life to make time for him. Unfortunately, they will have to find a way to evict an old lady that lives there before they can move in. Matthew suspects something when Richard begins to lie to New Christine about where he is.
Meanwhile, New Christine goes into labor - on Old Christine's birthday. There are two moms in particular who always seem to rub Christine the wrong way. When Dave and Christine are alone, he reveals that he wants to break up with her. Christine usually refers to this pair as the meanie moms. To distinguish between the two Christine's, the ex-husband and his new girlfriend both refer to his ex-wife as old Christine. Also, Matthew and Richard have moved into their new apartment, but Richard doesn't love the new arrangement: Matthew has set all these boundaries because of his lack of boundaries in his former arrangement with Christine and is no fun to live with. When they tell Richard about New Christine's rage, he is delighted: her previous apathy upset him, but anger is a cousin of love and he knows there's still hope for them.
Christine is divorced from Richard and has a young son named after her ex-husband. They eventually abandon Christine's therapy and strike up a relationship instead. And Barb's immigration officer flirts with her saying if she's in a sham marriage, he'll overlook it and reinstate her status. Harris who everyone, especially Matthew, thinks is gorgeous. Meanwhile, Richard and New Christine take their relationship up a notch and buy a house together, which coincidentally is Christine's dream house leaving her feeling jealous and confused. Unfortunately, Christine loses her passport and ends up being detained in the Bahamas; they return 24 hours later with no Bongo.
Unfortunately, Frances thinks Barb is threatening her and when Frances goes to the gym to let Christine know she accepts her apology, things go from bad to worse as Christine ends up tying her up to get her to calm down.
